Two Year 7 forms from Marie Curie house have been helping to fundraise for the Marie Curie Cancer Appeal this March.
Every March millions of people across the UK support the Great Daffodil Appeal by simply giving a donation to wear a daffodil pin. By wearing a daffodil, staff and students will be helping the Marie Curie charity to nurse terminally ill people in their final hours.
As well as selling daffodil pin badges during Form Time, staff and students have been invited to ‘plant’ an origami daffodil on the Marie Curie house board in memory, or in support of, a loved one who has suffered from cancer. Some of the daffodils have been ‘planted’ to celebrate loved ones who are cancer survivors.
“Many students are walking around school proudly wearing a daffodil. Marie Curie nurses do amazing work caring for terminally ill people who want to be looked after at home. We’ve really enjoyed doing our bit and raising money for such a worthwhile cause.”- Mark Fowle, Head Teacher
Fund raising for this great cause will continue to the end of term.
