Southlands High School Zumbathon
Southlands High School has a long standing commitment to raise money to improve the provision of educational facilities for schools in the Gambia.
Over the past ten years, money raised by Southlands has led to achieving some of the following improvements; installation of electricity, new student toilets, the foundations of school vegetable garden was initiated to supplement mid-day meals, a revolutionary solar pump to provide a piped water supply and several containers of furniture from local schools.
On Saturday 1st March at 2pm, there will be a Zumbathon in the sports hall at Southlands High School to raise money for a new roof and education equipment at a school in Gambia.
Hosted by Sarah Walton, a professional Zumba trainer, Southlands are inviting members of the public to purchase a £5.00 ticket from reception to participate in up to two hours of Zumba!
All money raised will be donated to the Gambia and there will be cold drinks provided to quench the thirsts of the energetic participants.
You do not have to be super fit to take part and all ages are welcome. Previous Zumba experience is not needed as beginners are encouraged to get involved in this great activity for a superb cause!!
