As Chorley fell silent in tribute to service personnel who have died during conflicts, as part of the annual Remembrance Sunday service. A two-minute silence was observed, before members of the community laid their wreaths at the Cenotaph in Astley Park.

More than 2,000 attended the service at the Cenotaph and watched the march through the town centre.

The school was represented by the Head Teacher, Mark Fowle and the Head Boy and Girl. They joined the procession to the church from the Town Hall entrance and took part in the service.

“Remembrance Sunday is an important date in my calendar to ensure that our servicemen and women do not become forgotten heroes.”  Mark Fowle, Head Teacher
