Most of us look forward to Christmas time, spending time with family and friends, enjoying the festive season. However for some people it can be a lonely time and the winter months can be a challenge to get through. For some elderly people the cold, frost and ice, means they spend weeks indoors with little company. Once again we would like to support and surprise these members of our community in a small way by providing them with a cheerful hamper filled with food items and one or two luxury goods. In order to do this we need your help!
Items we require include tinned foods, for example baked beans, soups, vegetables, corned beef, tinned fish (eg Tuna, salmon), tinned fruit, tinned pies (eg Fray Bentos) etc. Also festive goods like Christmas puddings and other items with a far away best before/sell by date including boxes of tea bags, jars of coffee or hot chocolate and packets of biscuits. Sweets and chocolates and any toiletry items (soaps, talc, bubble bath etc) could also provide a little luxury for us to add to each hamper.
This year the hampers will be delivered to members of a sheltered housing scheme in Coppull. The people living there are elderly, many of them live alone or have poor health and few visitors.
Thank you in advance for your generosity and support.
